ABOUT

Personal Statement
Sebastian Timme is a Professor of Aerodynamics at the University of Liverpool, after completing his PhD in 2010, with secondments to DLR Göttingen (2010) and BAE Systems Filton (2016-17). He has published more than 90 journal and conference papers on the subjects of computational aerodynamics and aeroelasticity, model order reduction and machine learning. His main interest is in fast simulation tools for routine industrial application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in the multidisciplinary aircraft loads and aeroelastics context. He implemented some of these methods into the DLR-TAU software tool, which is a CFD code widely used in the European aerospace industry and academia, and he was invited to contribute to the development of the new-generation CFD code CODA.
