Personal Statement
I am a registered nurse and have worked at the University of Liverpool as a lecturer and senior lecturer since 2005. I have led on various modules which have focused on critical care and palliative and end of life care. I have led on curriculum development and design on a number of current nursing and health related courses delivered at the University, been head of nursing at the University and recently moved to my current role as Vice Dean, Pre-Registration Education and Student Experience of the School of Allied Health Professions and Nursing. Prior to working at the University I worked clinically in intensive care and as a Regional Donor and Recipient Transplant Coordinator across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales. I gained my Doctorate in Medical Ethics from Keele University in 2015. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I have worked closely with colleagues in various institutions within the regional sector, particularly around curricula review and approval. I have a keen interest in clinical and research ethics, sitting on the clinical ethics advisory group for Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust and I am Chair of the Central University Research Ethics Committee C. I am also the Independent Chair for the North West Kidney Network Board.

My interests are around clinical and research ethics, palliative and end of life care, critical care, organ donation and transplantation and women's health.

Research Overview
PhD supervisor

2022-3 Co-investigator for a qualitative study looking at Dementia Services East Cheshire- specifically the services offered by East Cheshire Hospice and how this meets local need for both those living with dementia and their carers.
2023-4: Co-investigator exploring a nursing oral archive of the recollections of nurses, who trained in Liverpool between 1919 -1950.
2024: Co-investigator for a Qualitative Evaluation of Nursing and Allied Health Professional participation in Post-Graduate Critical Care Education.
