Personal Statement
I am a Professor in Health Research Methodology with a social science background who is based within the Department of Public Health, Policy and Systems.

My research focusses on exploring clinicians and patient perspectives’ to inform the design and conduct of health research. This includes leading research and guidance to inform clinical trials without prior consent in emergency and critical care situations.

My roles include:
Head of Public Health Policy and Systems
Lead/co investigator on numerous national and international NIHR and MRC funded studies
Member of the Health Research Authority National Research and Ethics Panel (NREAP)
Research Excellence Framework Environment working group and for UoA2 and member of the UoA2 project committee
Member of the Paediatric Emergency Research in the UK and Ireland (PERUKI) collaboration
Chair of the European Commission funded Brain Involvement in Dystrophinopathies: BIND study ethics board
Line-manager, mentor and career coach for staff in my Institute
