ABOUT

Personal Statement
I hold a PhD in Immunology awarded by the University of Liverpool (2019) and have over 10 years of experience in cellular immunology research, leading projects on cellular immune responses to bacterial, viral, and fungal pathogens. My expertise centres on innate and acquired immune responses to respiratory bacterial pathogens, with a current focus on T cell and natural killer (NK) cell responses during pneumococcal pneumonia, and the influence of ageing on anti-pneumonia immunity.

Research Overview
My research aims to define fundamental principles by which pathogen-derived signals orchestrate innate and adaptive cellular immune responses in the airways, and to uncover how these regulatory networks are progressively rewired with immune ageing.
