Personal Statement
Beth has been the Joint Clinical Director of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme since 2018. Beth has overall responsibility for practice placements.

Beth is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over twenty years experience of working in the NHS with people with intellectual disabilities. Beth is a qualified Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) practitioner.

Beth’s teaching focuses on professional issues, clinical supervision and promoting the human rights of people with intellectual disabilities.

Beth’s research interests include co-production, sexuality, people with intellectual disabilities, social justice and human rights, approaches to risk assessment and CAT. Her work has resulted in invited contributions at both national and international conferences, including for the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights and contributing to a ministerial round table on restraint reduction.

Beth has previously been awarded grants by HEFCE and the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
