ABOUT
Personal Statement
I teach and research primarily in the areas of economic sociology, critical criminology and critical social policy. My main interest in the intersection of state power and political economy, particularly in the fields of social policy and critical criminology. I’ve published on a variety of topics including state-corporate crime in the Global South, racism and anti-migrant politics in Singapore, critical perspectives in Southern Criminology, and neoliberal approaches to mental health and older persons social policy, among some others.
I am keen to supervise students, masters or PHD level, in the areas of critical social policy in any region, imperialism/neo-colonialism, crime/criminalization and political economy, critical inquiries into society and politics in SE Asia (and especially Singapore), global inequality, corporate crime and wrongdoing and the sociology of work.
