ABOUT

Personal Statement
I qualified from Keele University with a first class (hons) degree in Physiotherapy in 2006, after which I entered clinical practice. I undertook general rotations at in Liverpool University Hospitals NHSFT (formerly Aintree Hospitals), and completed a NIHR funded MRes in 2012-2013. I re-entered clinical practice and specialised in management of patients' with severe obesity. I secured a further two NIHR awards, the latter of which was used to prepare an application for a NIHR funded PhD fellowship. This was successful and was awarded in 2018. The fellowship was used to develop a complex theory and evidence based, behaviour change intervention targeting physical activity and sedentary behaviour following bariatric surgery. To date, this has resulted in two publications in peer reviewed journals.
