ABOUT

Personal Statement
Dr Alireza Moradi is a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He earned his BSc in Mechanical Engineering and completed his PhD at the University of Liverpool, focusing on the study of composite materials. Before joining his current role, he worked as an Academic Manager at the University of Liverpool International College and served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Liverpool.

Dr Moradi's research focuses on the development, characterisation, and testing of novel high-performance composite materials. He has expertise in processing technologies specifically designed for manufacturing thermoplastic composites. His work led to the development of an innovative manufacturing method based on aqueous powder impregnation. His contributions to the field of thermoplastic composites secured a UKRI – Innovate UK grant (NATEP: Helping SMEs Innovate in Aerospace, Autumn 2020). Through this postdoctoral project, he collaborated closely with industrial partners to develop and demonstrate a system for producing high-quality composite tapes, capable of supporting low- to medium-volume production with the potential for future high-volume industrial-scale manufacturing.
