Personal Statement
I am a Professor at the University and a member of the Condensed Matter Physics group and Materials Innovation Factory. Prior to joining the University in 2017, I received a masters degree from the University of Oxford (2006) and PhD from Imperial College London (2011). I have held positions within the University of Cambridge and University of Minnesota, including a Marie Skłodowska-Curie individual fellowship (2012-2015) and early career lectureship (2014-2017) based at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge. My research focusses on spin transport in nanoscopic thin and ultrathin film devices; nanoscale magnetism, including thin films and nanoparticles; and nano-fabrication, including lithography, glancing multi-angle deposition and device processing. In 2025 I was awarded an EPSRC Open Fellowship to develop new magnetic nanoparticles for medical imaging and magnetophoretic rheology.

My current research interests include the applications and development of magnetic nanostructures, thin film magnetic materials, and spintronic devices, particularly the detection of novel magnetic nanoparticles .
