ABOUT
Personal Statement
Dr. Laura Corner is a senior lecturer in laser accelerator science in the School of Engineering, University of Liverpool, and with the Cockcroft Institute of Accelerator Science and Technology, based at Daresbury Laboratory. She works in the area of laser development, with specific interests in lasers for particle acceleration and defence. Dr. Corner received her undergraduate degree in theoretical physics from Imperial College, London, and remained there to complete a PhD in photorefractive optical materials. Following postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford, she was appointed as a lecturer at the University of Liverpool in 2018. Her wider research interests include novel diode sources for ultrasensitive spectroscopy, attosecond pulse generation and lasers for particle diagnostics, as well as high gradient laser-driven plasma acceleration technologies.
