ABOUT

Personal Statement
I graduated from the University of York in 2014 with a degree in Archaeology, specialising in Human Evolution. Following this, I graduated from the Hull York Medical School in 2015 with a MSc in Human Anatomy and Evolution and then went on to work in the Immunology lab at the Royal Liverpool Hospital. I completed my PhD in 2023 as part of the 'Evolutionary Morphology and Biomechanics Group' at the University of Liverpool before joining the School of Biosciences as a lecturer in September 2023.

My research interests include human biomechanics and human anatomy, and in particular, the evolution of locomotion. My research has been focused on metabolic cost and kinematics of humans walking over sand and other compliant substrates and footprint formation. I also have a keen interest in inclusive teaching and learning in higher education.
