ABOUT

Personal Statement
Dr Julia Behnsen is a technical specialist for material analysis with x-ray micro-CT and looks after the X-ray micro-CT Shared Research Facility. She has over 13 years’ experience in applying micro-CT analysis to samples from a wide range of research areas, such as engineering, earth sciences, biomedical research, and bioengineering. Her aim is to support researchers in making the most of 3D analysis with micro-CT by helping with method training, sample selection, data acquisition and image data analysis. She has research interests in developing new data acquisition and analysis methods, correlating other imaging modalities, such as electron and light microscopy, with X-ray CT, and regularly collaborates on research publications.
Julia gained her PhD in physics from the University of Hannover, Germany, after completing degrees in physics and combined social sciences also at the University of Hannover.
