Personal Statement


I joined the RETURN team in April 2021 in the role of Senior Research Dental Nurse, previous to this I was a Senior Dental Health Promotion Officer at the Community Dental Health service at Mersey Care NHS Trust.

During my career as a Dental Nurse, I gained further qualifications in Oral Health Education, Conscious Sedation and Special Care Dentistry. I am also a qualified tutor and have been involved in the delivery of the City and Guilds level 3 Dental Nursing course and the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses, Certificate in Oral Health Education.

During my career I have become passionate about the inequalities in oral health especially amongst those from low socioeconomic backgrounds and those dependent on others for the provision of oral health care. I have a MSc in Public Health and for the purpose of dissertation I conducted an independent piece of research into oral health provision in care home settings in Liverpool.
