Personal Statement
After graduating in 2018 from the University of Chester with a 2:1 BA(Hons) in English Literature and English Language, I decided to pursue a Master's degree in English Literature, specialising in Science Fiction, at the University of Liverpool in 2019/20.
Between 2021 and 2026, I was a Communications Administrator in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Communications Team and have learnt useful skills in line with the core values of the University of Liverpool's Strategy 2031. I was responsible for the weekly internal comms using a variety of CRM programmes, assisting the Communications Officers with their monthly newsletters in the same software. I was also responsible for managing the Faculty's social media channels (which includes Twitter/X, LinkedIn and Bluesky) as well as taking on responsibilities maintaining the School of Dentistry's socials, mainly Instagram. When Canva was introduced to the team, I was a leading figure in implementing this as part of our daily tasks and setting up a variety of templates (including digital screens, inaugural lecture assets, for the team to use freely, and completing all of Canva's Design School courses. I also have experience in using Procreate and currently am learning how to use Affinity software for tasks that Canva doesn't have the functionality for. During my time in HLS, I have lead the creative side of large projects such as the Faculty's Patient and Public Involvement Strategy and the Faculty's EDIW Funding Scheme Impact Report.
As of September 2026, I'm situated within the University Brand Team.
