ABOUT
Personal Statement
I am a data scientist in the Computational Biology Facility, part of the University of Liverpool Shared Research Facilities. My role involves delivery of data analysis projects for academic, clinical, and industry collaborators. Much of my work involves analysis of omics data, with a keen systems biology focus.
I obtained my masters in biochemistry from the University of York in 2021, where I analysed publicly available data to identify novel regulators of membrane trafficking in S. cerevisiae. This was followed by a move to the University of Liverpool to undertake a PhD under the supervision of Dr Niall Kenneth, elucidating the role of the Unfolded Protein Response in the regulation of hypoxia signalling, which I completed shortly before my move to the CBF in 2026.
I have considerable experience in public engagement and outreach, with a particular passion for working with school groups and children in a Widening Participation context. I work closely with the rest of the team, particularly Dr Emily Johnson, to deliver the CBF’s outreach activities, and liaise with the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Public Engagement team to continue to develop and improve our outreach activity.
