Personal Statement
Semra Worrall is a Doctoral Academic Teacher in the Department of Psychology at the University of Liverpool. She teaches undergraduate statistics and provides academic and pastoral support in her capacity as an Academic Advisor. Her research lies within the field of perinatal mental health, with a particular emphasis on the effects of preterm birth on maternal health outcomes.

Semra holds a first-class honours degree in Psychology and an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology with Distinction, both from the University of Liverpool. Her undergraduate and master’s research focused on maternal anxiety in mothers of preterm infants, with specific attention to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) environment.

Her doctoral research built on this work, further investigating the relationship between perinatal anxiety and preterm birth.
