Personal Statement
Azmil is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Cerebrovascular Medicine (Stroke Medicine) at the University of Liverpool, and Honorary Consultant Stroke Neurologist at Whiston Hospital in Merseyside. He provides clinical care for people with stroke and TIA. He has also developed a broad portfolio of skills and experience resulting in scientific outputs of international quality. Particular clinical and research interests include stroke-heart syndrome and big data usage to improve care of people affected by stroke.

As a clinician-researcher, Azmil has published extensively on topics relating to stroke, and has authored original research, opinion pieces and editorials for journals such as Stroke; European Stroke Journal; European Heart Journal and Circulation.
