Personal Statement
Dr. Olga Gkountouna is a Lecturer of geographic data science at the Department of Geography and Planning, University of Liverpool, UK. Prior to joining the University of Liverpool, she was a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Department of Computational Data Sciences, George Mason University, USA. Her research focuses on urban mobility networks, modeling and predicting traffic, as well as on the application of machine learning/data mining techniques on real-world transportation data from various modalities. She also has a strong research background in the fields of data anonymization, privacy-preserving data publishing, and time series analysis.
