Personal Statement
I have always had a keen interest in animal and patient veterinary care. I studied animal care level 2 and level 3 at Northop college. I then joined Chestergates animal referral hospital as a Veterinary Care Assistant in which I spent a year assisting the nurses with procedures, helping in theatre, feeding the inpatient's and much more. I now work at Liverpool university's Leahurst Equine campus as a Animal Care Assistant/Equine Care Technician. I assist the nursing and vet team with clinical procedures, cleaning and stocking treatment and theatre areas, packing and sterilising medical instruments and helping set up for clinical emergencies. While working outside on the yard, I stock all equipment and keep yard area's clean and tidy. I help clean and empty infectious and non infectious stables after horses leave.
