Personal Statement
Dr Abby Blackman née Haworth joined the School of Engineering as a Lecturer with responsibility for Outreach & Inclusion in April 2023. She completed her undergraduate degree (Major in Chemistry) at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. She then went on to obtain her PhD from Durham University before joining Lancaster University and the Faraday Institution's FutureCat project as a Senior Research Associate. She has expertise in using solid-state NMR spectroscopy, alongside other complementary techniques, to characterise the local structure of materials and probe ion mobility.
