Personal Statement
I have been a diagnostic radiographer since qualifying from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen in 1999 and I am as passionate about it today as I was then.
There is no greater joy than being able to pass this passion onto my students and I am blessed to be able to do that with an incredibly supportive team and at a university of great repute.

Research Overview
I was awarded my PhD viva on 21 June 2024. I looked at non-medical referrer, radiographers and final year student radiographers knowledge or medical radiation and associated risks, in relation to an informed consent discussion.

From my own experience and career, I have always been passionate about multi disciplinary working, advancing practice and everything to do with the patient.
Due to the impact COVID-19 pandemic had on my PhD I was not able to go into the patient side of my research as much as I had planned so that is where I am starting with post doctoral research.

The PhD has also highlighted areas of interest including patient centred care, improving patients health literacy and the intricacies of risk perception and communication, which is the answer to many issues in life. Who knew that my love of talking, and listening, would get me this far.
