Personal Statement
Liz is an experienced quantitative health researcher, specialising in health economics. She has a PhD in Epidemiology and over 10-years' experience working as an academic health economist, with a focus on clinical trials. She has secured over £20m of funding for a broad portfolio of research projects across a wide range of clinical areas. She has a particular interest in mental health and women's/maternal health. She works as part of multi-disciplinary research teams on projects based in Liverpool, across the UK, and further afield in sub-Saharan Africa. She has a unique set of complementary skills from her background in psychology and epidemiology in combination with her expertise in trial- and model-based economic evaluation. Within the University of Liverpool, Liz is a member of the Health Inequalities Policy Research (HIP-R) Group, Health Economics and Equity Liverpool (HEEL), Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre (M-RIC), and Data Action Research Team (DART). Within M-RIC, she is the academic lead for 'Child and adolescent digital mental health'. She is based in the Department of Public Health Policy and Systems, within the Institute of Population Health.
