ABOUT
Personal Statement
I am Impact Coordinator for the Faculty of Science and Engineering. My role sits within the faculty's Research & Impact team. Our team seeks to promote a positive, inclusive research environment; drive forward research excellence; and enable research impact to enhance the University's global reputation. We work closely with academic REF leads, our counterparts in other faculties, and colleagues in the Research, Partnerships and Innovation directorate.
My role is to manage internal impact-related funding; monitor and evaluate faculty impact activity; coordinate impact case study stocktakes and quality reviews; arrange and support Faculty impact training/ development (including the use of Elements impact records). In addition, I provide impact support for research related Public Engagement activity. I also provide support for the following faculty groups: the Impact Leadership Network, and the Public Engagement Community of Practice.
I have over a decade's experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating public engagement activities with a particular focus on engaging schools and families. I have worked for the Natural History Museum, Jodrell Bank Centre for Engagement, Manchester Museum, and LJMU's Astrophysics Research Institute. I have a PhD in Planetary Science from the University of Manchester and completed a post-doc at the Natural History Museum.
