ABOUT

Personal Statement
I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2018 with a BSc in Genetics. My undergraduate project focused on characterising bacterial serine integrases for site specific DNA recombination and the uses of these in synthetic biology.

I completed my PhD at the University of Leeds in 2024. I used transposon mutagenesis to functionally profile the genome of hepatitis E virus (HEV) and begin functional analysis of the PCP domain. This approach was also used to study the polyprotein cleavage of HEV.

In my role as a PDRA I am working to characterise host targets of viral proteases across three viral families and investigate the implication for infections. This involves both classical virology approaches and proteomics,
