Personal Statement
I am a Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Public Health Policy and Systems and an Honorary Consultant in Public Health at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
My research focuses on understanding the relationship between education and health in childhood and adolescence to better inform policy to reduce health inequalities. My research involves a unique mix of epidemiological methods and knowledge mobilisation to produce actionable evidence to identify policy questions and inform policy to reduce child and adolescent health inequality.

From 2020-2023 I completed a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) doctoral fellowship which researched the relationship between child development and adolescent health, beyond the 'best start in life'. 
I completed the UK Public Health Specialty training programme in 2024.

I also undertake consultancy work for UN agencies; current work is for UNICEF and includes the development of resources for policy makers to improve early child development policy and practice across the EU.

My background, prior to specialising in public health, is in pharmacy and I have extensive experience in primary and community care in the NHS.
