Personal Statement
Theodora graduated with her veterinary degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2011, where she completed an internship followed by a PhD in Veterinary Clinical Pathology. Her research focused on the effects of mycotoxins on clinical pathology and reproductive parameters in rabbits. In 2017, she joined the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies as a researcher on a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded project within the broader field of Tropical Animal Health. During her tenure, she co-led a systematic evidence map on ruminant production-limiting disease prevalence and mortality in Ethiopia, incorporating machine learning methods. Theodora then pursued a three-year specialised training program in Veterinary Clinical Pathology, obtaining the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) diploma in 2024 and achieving RCVS specialist status in Veterinary Pathology in 2025. In August 2024, she joined the University of Liverpool as a Lecturer in Veterinary Clinical Pathology. Theodora is involved in routine clinical pathology services and is particularly enthusiastic about clinical research, teaching and evidence-based medicine. She is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
