Personal Statement
Nigel Cassidy is geophysicist, engineer and numerical modeller. He is the Mason Bibby Professor of Engineering and Programme Director for the MSc in Engineering Management. Nigel teaches professional engineering management skills, digital engineering and risk management. His research is focused on buried infrastructure sensing, digital twins and low-carbon heat recovery systems.
Research Overview
Nigel Cassidy's current research is focused around infrastructure sensing, the numerical modelling of soil-structure interactions and development of low-carbon heat recovery systems. His past research included Ground Penetrating Radar modelling, Electrical Resistivity Imaging and seismic/acoustic sensing for geological, geotechnical and environmental applications.
