Personal Statement
I am a mathematical modeller with a background in climate science and a particular interest in quantifying the impact of climate change and variability on vector-borne diseases of humans and animals. I'm interested in modelling the interactions between between people, animals, environment and infection and in understanding their associated uncertainties. I've worked with mathematicians, computer scientists and biologists to develop novel models for diseases including malaria, Rift Valley fever and bluetongue, and coupled these models with climate observations and predictions. My research helps us better understand future disease risk at timescales from days to multiple decades to inform policy making and mitigation strategies.
