Research Overview
Andrea's research focuses on competition law; an area of law which is vitally important to the delivery of social outcomes, especially in complex mixed- and quasi-markets. It can also deliver or interfere with aspects of social justice (e.g. in the context of the gig economy). Furthermore, it is deeply related to a country’s wider historical, political and socio-economic background. These are the areas which Andrea focuses on. Her work is located at the fringes of competition law and employs interdisciplinary socio-legal methods. More specifically, her research straddles three main interests; (1) competition law's overlaps with other areas of law and policy (e.g. with health, labour or higher education policy [watch an interview with Andrea on the latter topic on https://faculti.net/higher-education-institutions-in-the-eu-between-competition-and-public-service/]), (2) comparative competition law and (3) competition law in the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN).
