ABOUT

Personal Statement
Irep Uras graduated with a BSc in Molecular Genetics from The Ohio State University and she completed both her MSc and PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Acibadem University in Istanbul. Her doctoral research focused on proteomic and metabolomic investigation of neurodegenerative mechanisms in neonatal 5xFAD mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease, with the goal of uncovering early molecular mechanisms involved in disease pathology. During her PhD, Irep was awarded a TUBITAK International Fellowship for Research to pursue part of her studies at the Sheffield Hallam University. Irep now holds a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the University of Liverpool, working on the proteomics element of the GlycoWeb project, contributing to the “Discovery” and “Challenging the System” objectives.
