Personal Statement
Amy graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2009 and worked in farm practice in Wiltshire, before joining the Leahurst Farm Practice team on a Residency programme in 2011, completing a Masters in veterinary sciences. She was appointed as a Lecturer and enrolled to study to become a diplomat of the European College of Bovine Health Management. Shortly after passing the examination, she left her role as Lecturer to pursue a PhD in Veterinary Microbiology, producing a thesis "A Multifaceted Approach to Informing the Control of Digital Dermatitis in Dairy Herds." After a short stint back in the Leahurst Farm Practice, Amy was reappointed as a Teaching and Research Lecturer in March 2023. She has a keen interest in clinical research and is involved in projects regarding ketosis and udder cleft dermatitis. Her main focus is to continue to study the microbiology of bovine digital dermatitis.
