Personal Statement
Roberto has previously taught philosophy, critical theory, cultural studies and political economy at Goldsmiths College, Oxford Brookes and Kingston University. His published work has focused on the motif of the 'End of Philosophy' in the work of Marx especially as reworked in the context of postwar French Marxist theory. Roberto is on the editorial board of Historical Materialism: Research in Critical Marxist Theory, Historical Materialism: Workers and Capital and Notes from Below. He is currently completing his first monograph 'The End of Philosophy in Marx: Variations in Henri Lefebvre, Louis Althusser and Jacques Derrida. He is also translating and editing a volume of essays by the Marxist anthropologist Pierre-Philippe Rey.
