Personal Statement
Professor at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), affiliated with the Department of Communication. She teaches in the undergraduate course in Social Communication – Journalism, as well as in the Posgraduate Program in Communication and the Posgraduate Program in Letters. She holds a PhD in Linguistic Studies from the Graduate Program in Linguistic Studies (PosLin) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), including a doctoral research period at Université Paris-Est Créteil, France. She also holds a Master's degree in Linguistic Studies from PosLin/UFMG and a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication – Journalism from UFV. She was a visiting researcher at the Department of Sociology of Lancaster University, working on Media and Gender Studies. She is co-leader of DIZ – Research Group on Discourses and Aesthetics of Difference and a member of NIEG – Interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies at UFV. She represented UFV on the Municipal Council for Women's Rights (CMDM) of Viçosa, Minas Gerais, in 2023. Her research focuses on gender and sexuality studies, difference, life narratives, and discourse analysis. She is currently undertaking postdoctoral research in the Department of Communication and Media at the University of Liverpool.
