Personal Statement
I am a glaciologist with interests in Satellite Remote Sensing, geospatial data analysis, Earth Observation, GIS & Machine Learning. My work focuses on the remote sensing of icebergs in Greenland's fjords and the behaviour of the regions' marine terminating glaciers using a wide range of remote sensing approaches. This work will address research questions related to marine terminating stability, changes in iceberg calving behaviour and the trajectories and lifespans of icebergs.
I also have a keen interest in lake-terminating glaciers and during my PhD I focused on developing an automated and scalable Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA) workflow in Google Earth Engine, integrating machine learning techniques to delineate the areal extent and changes of their proglacial lakes in Svalbard and New Zealand.

Research Overview
I completed my PhD at Ulster University, Northern Ireland where my research was centred on the remote sensing of changes in lake-terminating glacier area and dynamics through Google Earth Engine. I am motivated by the opportunity to apply my expertise of integrating multi-sensor satellite data, cloud-based Earth Observation and machine learning approaches to investigate the changes of icebergs and marine-terminating glaciers in Greenland’s fjord systems.
During my PhD, I designed and implemented an automated workflow in Google Earth Engine and Python, integrating Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA) and machine learning classifiers to process more than 1,500 Landsat scenes for multi-decadal glacial lake mapping. This work provides me with a foundation in building reproducible for Earth Observation pipelines, managing large datasets and developing efficient tools for long-term and multi-sensor glaciological monitoring. I am particularly motivated by the use and application of satellite remote sensing and modelling approaches to glaciological problems as it allows a practical way to monitor and collect continuous data from inaccessible and dangerous glaciated environments.
