Personal Statement
Dr Kostina Prifti researches and teaches topics that connect law, philosophy, and technology. Before joining University of Liverpool, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Erasmus School of Law, with a focus on the governance of Responsible AI in Healthcare. Kostina holds a bachelor’s degree in law, an MSC in Public law, both from Tirana University (Albania), an LLM in law and technology (cum laude) from Tilburg University (The Netherlands), and a PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands). His PhD dissertation focused on the Regulation by Design embedded within digital governance structures. He received several grants and awards, including a full scholarship awarded by the Dutch government and a research grant awarded by the research centre ‘Dynamics of Inclusive Prosperity’. Kostina has organised several events and participated in numerous international conferences to present his research. He was a co-organiser for the Conference on Responsible AI in Healthcare (CRAIH), which hosted over 100 scholars and policymakers on the topic of responsible AI in healthcare. In the past, he has successfully organised the Law, AI, and Regulation (LAIR) conference, an international and interdisciplinary event hosting multidisciplinary scholars worldwide.
