Personal Statement
James Philip Newton (known as Philip) joined the University of Liverpool Management School in 2026 as Events Administrator for the EGOS 2027 Colloquium, supporting the planning and delivery of one of the largest international gatherings in organisation studies.

He brings more than seventeen years of experience in higher education, spanning project support, governance, stakeholder coordination and communications. His background lies in keeping complex, multi-partner programmes running smoothly - maintaining the documentation, relationships and attention to detail that large events depend on.

A University of Liverpool alumnus who was born and raised in the city, Philip is particularly glad to be supporting a Colloquium that draws so directly on Liverpool's own character. Alongside his work, he is completing an MA in Mental Health and is an active musician and painter.

He looks forward to welcoming colleagues and delegates from around the world to Liverpool in July 2027.
