Personal Statement
Dr Alborz Dianat is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow researching the influence of psychology on British architecture since the late nineteenth century. Holding a PhD in Architectural History (University of Edinburgh), Alborz's research interests include gender, migration, and the transnational mediation of modern architecture. Before joining the Liverpool School of Architecture, Alborz also worked on the European Research Council funded ‘Expanding Agency’ project where he investigated the impact of women entrepreneurs on architecture and design. Together with Professor Kathleen James-Chakraborty, he has edited a book on the subject, Minding Her Business: Women, Architecture, and Design (Leuven University Press, 2026).
Alborz currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Architectural History, the principal publication of the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain.
