Personal Statement
Katie Jones is a Chartered Psychologist, Research Associate, and Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Lead in applied health research, investigating the emotional wellbeing of families. She works between the University of Liverpool and the Open University, collaborating with experts by experience, third sector stakeholders, and NHS partners to amplify seldom-heard voices and reduce barriers to inclusion in research and health service improvements.

Katie specialises in research with vulnerable populations, including perinatal families, pre/post-bereaved children and young people, and oncology patients and carers/loved ones. Her research examines modifiable social and cognitive mechanisms associated with anxiety, depression, and psychological distress during vulnerable life stages (e.g., childbirth, bereavement, and oncology treatment), aiming to identity opportunities for prevention and early intervention of mental health difficulties.
