ABOUT

Personal Statement
I began my academic career at Keele University, joining in 1995 as a junior lecturer and leaving as Professor of Criminology in 2011. Since joining Liverpool University as Professor of Social Justice I have been appointed to various roles including Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor for HSS (Research and Impact) and Vice President (Academic) at Xian Jiaotong Liverpool University.

Research Overview
I have published twenty research books, over 100 articles and book chapters and completed over thirty externally funded projects on VAWG, high-harm high-frequency perpetrators, comparative criminology, and longitudinal studies of offending. Funding from the UKRI and international bodies has allowed me to build a team of established academics who work on VAWG, AI/Policing, longitudinal studies of crime and imprisonment, and desistance. I have supervised twenty doctoral students, and welcome applications to work with colleagues at doctoral, and post-doctoral level in the future.
