ABOUT

Personal Statement
Ben Middlehurst is a Tenure Track Fellow in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He completed his PhD and post-doctoral work at the University of Liverpool and has a keen interest in understanding the genetic underpinnings of neurodegenerative disorders, with a particular focus on motor neurone disease and Parkinson’s disease. Ben’s scientific interests include exploring gene regulation, transposable elements, 3D chromatin organisation, epigenetics and global genetic and transcriptomic analysis using modern genetic manipulation techniques and relevant neuronal cell models.
