Personal Statement
My roles include maintaining 6 growth rooms with specific lighting and heating regimes and 4 greenhouse block containing a variety of organisms, and ensuring the GM facilities are in-keeping with current GM regulations. I also work with maintaining and propagating plants within these areas. Furthermore, I provide laboratory support for research groups in Lab G, such as media preparation and molecular work as required.

In 2011 I obtained a first class honours degree in Genetics from the University of Liverpool. I then went on to complete my PhD with the Hartwell research group between 2011 and 2015 at UoL, characterising the roles of novel transcription factors in the circadian optimisation of Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (a photosynthetic adaptation). I then worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Warrington as a senior manufacturing technician synthesising and purifying oligonucleotides. I started back at the University of Liverpool in February 2017 in this current post.
