Personal Statement
My main research interest is the computational simulation of cognitive processes, in particular (first) Language Acquisition. The main focus of my work has been the development of a model called MOSAIC, which has been used to simulate children's verb marking errors across a range of languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch and K'Iche Mayan). In recent years I have started investigating the suitability of Generative Artificial Intelligence models to simulate aspects of language acquisition in both typically developing children and children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).
