Personal Statement
I graduated in Biology at the University of Genoa (2010) and received my MSc Degree in Neuroscience at the Univeristy of Trieste (2012). I did my PhD at the Department of Psychology, University of Liverpool (2015) on a thesis entitled "How processing of visual symmetry relates to preference for regular patterns, and the role of attention on preference formation". Since 2017, I have been Lecturer in Cognitive Psychology and Neuroscience and Director of Employability for the Department of Psychology

I am a member of the Visual Perception Lab, a leading lab in vision perception and neuroscience. My research interests include visual perceptual organisation, symmetry neuroscience, empirical aesthetics. I use EEG, psychophysics and eye-tracking methods.

My teaching focuses on cognition and cognitive neuroscience of visual perception, attention and action. I have extensive experience supervising UG, MSc students on these topics and teach research methods and statistics.

I have created the Psychology employability banner, PsychFutures, to expand the departmental scope and impact on students’ career readiness and outcomes. PsychFuture has a dedicated LinkedIn page, to facilitate students’ engagement with our initiatives and global networking PsychFuture LinkedIn
