Personal Statement
After training as an telecommunications engineer and completing compulsory National Service in 1961, (I was an X2 Instructor in Royal Corps of Signals at Catterick), my industrial career in engineering and management has spanned four industrial sectors:

Computer engineering & manufacturing in English Electric and ICL;
Engineering consultancy in the EIGA Partnership, Inner London;
Chemicals /Pharmarceuticals in CIBA-Geigy, (a Swiss MNC);
Financial Services sector in the London HQ of HSBC (Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation).

Following retirement at the normal retirement age from HSBC in 1998, my first academic appointment was as an Assistant Professor at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus.

In 2001 I accepted a Lectureship in Management at LIPAM, now ULMS in the University of Liverpool. Retired from ULMS and appointed Honorary Fellow, ULMS in January 2023.

I was awarded the Technical Teachers Certificate in 1967.

Retired from ULMS in January 2023. Now hold an Honorary Fellowship in ULMS.

Research Overview
Main research/scholarship interest is in using psychoanalytic perspectives for the study of micro-ethics and decision-making in the work place.
