ABOUT
Personal Statement
I was appointed to a permanent Lectureship in Philosophy at Liverpool in 2004 and promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2008. My main interests are in moral and political philosophy and especially how these areas of philosophy inform, and might be informed by, environmental philosophy. I have published three monographs, twelve journal articles and seven book contributions. A few years ago I led the AHRC networking project 'New Thinking on Alienation', my work on which culminated in my most recent monograph: Alienation and Nature in Environmental Philosophy (Cambridge University Press, 2015). A recent review of this book is here
I am a member of the editorial board of the journal Environmental Values , having been Reviews Editor (2009-12), Associate Editor (2012-15) and Managing Editor (2015-21)
