ABOUT
Personal Statement
As an honorary lecturer of the university, my research is mainly focused on the molecular mechanism of resistance to treatment in chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) patients. The treatment strategy for CML patients has progressed rapidly recently. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors and vaccination are of particular interest. Understanding of the failure of the treatment will improve the efficacy of the treatment.
As a Senior Clinical Scientist employed by NHS, I am responsible for developing new molecular diagnostic service in haematology laboratory monitoring for patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML), myeloproliferative disorders, acute leukaemia and patients under bone marrow transplant (BMT). These molecular diagnostic parameters should be already proven to have diagnostic, prognostic value or indicative of particular treatment for the patients on a large scale of patients. Once one particular service test has been established, I supervise the service and authorise the reports.
