Personal Statement
I am a HCPC registered Therapeutic Radiographer with over a fifteen years’ experience. In my clinical role I was an Advanced Practitioner in Treatment Planning and Brachytherapy, where I provided specialised advice for lung, head and neck, sarcoma and upper GI radiation treatments; led service development projects; and audited practice. I also planned and delivered pelvic brachytherapy treatments in theatre.

My research expertise is in image- guided radiotherapy, particularly in 4D-MRI-guided radiotherapy for lung cancer. Previous personal awards for my research include the College of Radiographers CoRiPs research award and Doctoral award, as well as the National Institute of Health Research Doctoral Fellowship.

I am a module leader, teacher and supervisor of students on UG and PG pre-HCPC registration Therapeutic Radiography courses, as well on post-registration courses within the School of Allied Health Professions and Nursing. I was co-applicant in a successful competitive grant awarded by the Office for Students to investigate reducing clinical placement pressures through simulation. The programme of work included developing and evaluating a simulated clinical placement, for which I was awarded the Chief Allied Health Professional Office award and the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence. I have also been awarded the Sir Alastair Pilkington Awards for Teaching Excellence.
