Personal Statement
I have been a Senior Lecturer in Cyberpsychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of Liverpool since January 2014, specialising in cyberlearning, deviant online behaviour, digital environments, and online communication. I bring more than twenty years of experience in teaching and learning in Higher Education, having worked across several national and international universities.

My research expertise spans two core domains within Cyberpsychology:

A. Technology‑Enhanced Learning (TEL)
My work examines how educational technologies shape teaching and learning in Higher Education, specifically, how people learn, how learning can be supported, and how technology design facilitates effective learning. I explore psychological processes underpinning human interactions with digital technologies to better understand student engagement, motivation, and knowledge construction. My previous PhD supervisions have focused on social media and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) practices (e.g., multitasking, integrating interactive learning platforms into class activities), learning analytics and study skills (e.g., metacognition and digital motivation), innovative learning platforms, sense of community and digital capabilities, emotional effects of digital environments on teacher training, and online informal learning. I currently supervise three PhD students working on VR applications for learning, student–staff partnership and the learning process and employability skills development

B. Technology‑Facilitated Digital Behaviour
As everyday life becomes increasingly mediated by technology, human social and cognitive processes evolve alongside it. My research in this area focuses on cybercrime (cyber abuse, sexting, cyberpornography), problematic Internet and social media use (multitasking, well-being), digital behaviour in marketing, work, and health contexts (influencers, hybrid work environments, AI‑enabled health tools). My research‑connected approach to teaching has led to multiple co‑authored publications with BSc and PGT students. I currently supervise five PhD students in the areas of cybercrime (i.e., cyber abuse, sexting and cyberpornography), digital marketing, problematic social media use, and AI‑mediated counselling. I am also the module leader for the third‑year Cyberpsychology module.
