Personal Statement
I studied sociology at the University of Aberdeen before post-graduate and post-doctoral research in labour and social history at the University of Warwick. In Liverpool since 1980, my main research interests are: the social and labour history of British mining communities; the history of industrial relations since 1945;communism and the British labour movement; communism and espionage.
