Personal Statement
Mark is a human geographer whose research interests relate to the social and cultural aspects of rural and environmental change. Following his PhD at Nottingham University, Mark worked on an AHRC funded project with Professor David Harvey at Exeter University and following this worked at the AHRC centre for Environmental History at the University of St Andrews. Before arriving in Liverpool, Mark worked as a senior lecturer in the Department of Geography at the University of Portsmouth. With colleagues in the Department of Geography and Planning, Mark is currently working on a Leverhulme funded project entitled "Agricultural change in Britain: modelling past impacts to predict the future". Mark is also currently in receipt of a Leverhulme Research Fellowship entitled "Death of the family farm? Using return farm life histories to explore the family farm 'crisis'"
